This is a top-level summary of contents for the NAG Fortran SMP Library™ for use on shared memory parallel (SMP) platforms. This library is optimized for scalable SMP systems and offers significant performance improvements over the standard NAG Fortran Library™ and over the hardware vendors LAPACK implementations, especially for higher numbers of processors.

The NAG Fortran SMP Library™ includes the full functionality of the NAG Fortran Library™ and users of the latter need only re-link to take advantage of most of the new routines, while for some new FFT routines, minor changes to the library calls will result in significant performance enhancement. This is the result of new techniques pioneered by NAG for some 50 routines used for linear algebra, FFT's and mulivariate analysis.
